Unfortunately the eldest organic store in Bonn had to close its doors on February 27. due to financial shortage. Consequently we decided to reschedule and not to invest the 500€ for improving the store’s Co2 assessment.

Despite the close-down the store manager Hubert Bois and our team agreed on contributing the 500€ to the upcoming Carrotmob event in Cologne. Supporting the Carrotmob Cologne is considered to be the best decision because the money will remain within the Carrotmob project and will therefore not only serve the climate protection but also foster the Carrotmob idea in general.

At this point we would like to thank Mr. Hubert Bois explicitly for his support.

Also, we emphasize the fact that the contribution of the 500€ is only destined for Co2 friendly activities – and nothing else. The additional 500€ are supposed to set an incentive for investing a higher proportion of the profit in energy-efficient measures.

The Carrotmob Cologne will take place on April, 17. in a selected greengrocery. Further information regarding the upcoming Carrotmob in Cologne and the utilization of the 500€ will be posted on the following website:

The business pledges to replace the old light bulps and unlock the heaters. The total revenue was 2269,43€ from which approx. 500€ will be spent for energy efficiency improvements.
The impact to make the world just a little better was supported by more than 300 people. CO2-online supported us by giving us essential information on energy-saving and additionally provided us with an energy consultant.
Print (Schnüss – local city magazine), Online (e.g. SPIEGEL ONLINE) as well as television media (arte TRACKS) reported about the event.
Feedback has been nothing but great and very encouraging; not only from the people who attended the event but also from the store owner as well.

Approx. 300 carrotmobbers spent 2269 Euros in only 3 hours!

Yesterday, we distributed posters and flyers in Bonn. Many people have kindly responded to the impending Carrotmob.

On October 24th, within the international day of climate action and six weeks before the crucial UN-negotiations in Copenhagen, Carrotmob Bonn will hold its first “reverse boycott” at the Bioladen “Biokultur” in Kessenich (Bonner Talweg 180). True to the motto “Carrotmob Bonn – for a cooler atmosphere” 20 percent of every Euro spent during 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. will go directly towards making “Biokultur” more energy efficient and thus more environmentally friendly. Everyone can make a difference – it’s time to act now!
